What Hamdullah did to Marvi Sirmed on Nadia Mirza Show

A shocking video has been circulating online where Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) leader who also happens to be a Senator Hafiz Hamdullah is seen abusing and attacking rights activist Marvi Sirmed. The ruckus took place on News One’s show 10pm with Nadia Mirza.

Most of the ugly part is edited/beeped out by the News One network, however, Marvi Sarmad has now revealed the full extend of what happened on the show.

Here is what she posted:

I’ve just undergone a very traumatic experience at a News One program (Nadia Mirza Show) when Hafiz Hamdullah of JUIF got angry on a comment by Barrister masroor. I started my comment by saying “I agree with Masroor sahib to the extent that” and here Hamdullah cut me and went on and on with his arrogance and rudeness. I responded in almost the equal coin. And that’s when he started abusing me with worst possible expletives. Called me a whore and said “tumhaari shalwaar utaar dooN ga aur tumhaari maaN ki bhi”. I returned this to his own family women. And then he tried to beat me. All of this recorded in camera. Fayaz ul Hassan Chauhan held him so his punches don’t reach me. He had to be taken away by the News One security.

It’s worth mentioning here that fellow panelists Qaumi Watan Party’s (QWP) Barrister Masroor and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) Fayyazul Hassan Chauhan have both corroborated Marvi’s story.

Hamdullah and his party have been vocal against Punjab’s Women Protection Bill and are openly proponent of “lightly beating women”. His lack of tolerance and insecurity from a fellow panelist who happens to be a woman is clearly evident in the video.

Not just insecurity, him stooping so low also indicates he felt emasculated while losing an argument to a woman. Throughout the ugly episode, he was seen saying “I won’t let her speak” and other similar sentences. He said the same to the host who also happens to be a woman. The host and other panelists had to step up and intervene.
