Police cave in to demos: Mullah Abdul Aziz booked for criminal intimidation

The Islamabad police on Friday registered an FIR under Section 506 (ii) of Pakistan Penal Code that deals with the criminal intimidation. This charge is punishable by up to seven years in prison and a hefty fine. All of this was possible because of demonstrations outside the notorious hate-epicenter Lal Masjid by the citizens who took to the Aabpara police station after police took many demonstrators in custody.

In an unprecedented victory, the police caved in to the pressure and booked Abdul Aziz. The citizens are now demanding the arrest and prosecution of the ‘burka mullah’ as the hashtag #ArrestAbdulAziz has been in top trending topics on Twitter in Pakistan.

Rights advocate Jibran Nasir will lead a press conference on Saturday evening to demand the government and law enforcement to follow through the prosecution.

The content of the FIR says that Mullah Abdul Aziz came out of the Lal Masjid and threatened to use violence against the demonstrators.

Here is the copy of the FIR making rounds on the social media.
